Mission and Vision

Mission

Making this world a safe and secure place for stray dogs is no easy challenge and a lot of work goes into it.

DRF’s first and foremost mission is to rescue dogs that have been the object of unwarranted torture or neglect and provide them with adequate care and medical help. These dogs are sprayed or neutered if needed and proper veterinary care from professionals is made available to them.

This organization then aims at assisting these stray dogs into good homes so that they can have a family through its extensive adoption programs. We also undertake programs where we educate families that are willing to adopt about the responsibilities and expenses of bringing a new dog into their homes and lives.

Our long term mission is to set up and maintain an active animal shelter that will be dedicated to promoting health, care, proper handling of stray and abandoned dogs. This shelter will help DRF solve the problems of overpopulation and save the dogs that are exposed to the dangers of euthanasia at public shelters due to an exponential increase in the number of pariahs.

Last but not the least, DRF desires to work in close association with similar other organizations. In the near future we hope to generate a deep network of members and volunteers who will work together to form a world that is safe for strays and homeless pets.

Vision

DRF is the fruit of Debasree Roy’s unparalleled love for animals and her zero tolerance for any cruelty that is inflicted upon them! With this award winning actress at the helm of affairs at the organization, DRF upholds her cherished vision of a world where animals can lead a comfortable life of health and security. Our vision is to curb the exploding population of stray dogs, rescuing and giving medication to sick and injured animals and finding good homes for the pariah dogs and abandoned pets through adoption. DRF hopes that the day when love, care, healthy food and shelter can be provided to every dog on the street is not going to be very far. For this we seek to establish and upgrade facilities for animal rescue and rehabilitation such as shelters, ambulances, mobile clinics and help-lines so that every dog can be taken care of.

Come help translate this vision of DRF into reality with your help and generous donations!
